Meditation & Mindfulness – Public Talk with Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong

View Gallery

Over 300 people came to listen to this inspiring talk from Gen-la Dekyong on a lovely sunny morning in the Temple for World Peace. Gen-la talked about how important meditation is and that if we want to be happy then it is essential. Meditation is a method to make our mind calm and peaceful, if our mind is calm and peaceful then we are happy. You also need mindfulness to meditate, they go together. You need to train in both; mindfulness is at the very heart of meditation.

Both meditation and mindfulness are essential for human happiness.
After the main event many people stayed to enjoy the range of other activities on offer all year round at Manjushri KMC including: beginner meditations in the temple, the World Peace Café, house tours and a stroll through the grounds to the beach. Visitors even enjoyed a special lunch with the community and tour of the Kadampa art studio.

Following on from this public talk is a series of drop-in classes on the topic Meditation & Mindfulness in the Temple at Manjushri KMC (Ulverston) and in Barrow, Grange, Kendal, Kirkby Stephen and Windermere. Please check the website for further details.
