
The Bliss of Concentration ~ Day Retreat

Concentration is a single-pointed virtuous mind that gives rise to mental peace and happiness. It is very important to train in concentration, as with distractions we cannot accomplish anything.
In this course we will learn how, by improving the power of our concentration, we will develop a profound bliss that far exceeds the bliss of ordinary sense pleasures and that naturally causes our negative minds — such as attachment, anger and jealousy — to subside. Finally, by making our body and mind supple, comfortable and easy to direct wherever we wish, concentration enables us to become deeply familiar with virtuous objects — special thoughts that lead to happiness and mental peace — and thereby swiftly progress to the supreme happiness of enlightenment.
