Guru Yoga & Mandala Offering Retreat

In-Depth Retreat

Jun 18 - Nov 24, 2027

Mandala Retreat

Including an Introduction and some guidance, most sessions of the retreat will be unguided.

Guru Yoga and Mandala offering retreat combines two of the four great preliminary guides that we need to practice if we want to gain Mahamudra realisations – the quick path to enlightenment.

We all wish for spiritual realisations, but these depend upon creating certain inner conditions such as purifying negativity, accumulating merit, and receiving blessings.

In this retreat we focus on the preliminary practices of accumulating merit and receiving blessings. Making mandala offerings is the gateway to accumulating the collection of merit and attaining an enlightened pure land and Guru yoga is the gateway to receiving powerful blessings of all the Buddhas of the ten directions through our Spiritual Guide.

Refuge Retreat

In-Depth Retreat

Jul 3 - 10, 2026

Manjushri_KMC-ROBI4647

Refuge Retreat is the first of the four great preliminary guides that we need to practice if we want to enter into Buddhism and  make progress on our spiritual path to enlightenment. Through training in sincerely going for refuge we enter the gateway to Buddhism; and training in the compassionate mind of bodhichitta we enter the gateway to the Mahayana – the main path to the state of enlightenment.

If we do not have a practice of refuge in the Three Jewels – Buddha, Dharma and Sangha – we will not enter Buddhism and this means we have no opportunity to attain permanent liberation from suffering or the supreme happiness of Enlightenment. Then we will have lost the meaning of human life.

There will be four guided sessions a day, except when there are tsog offering Pujas, and the practice is accomplished within the sadhana Essence of Good Fortune.

Nyungnay Purifying Ritual Practice

Apr 13 - 15, 2027

statues-default-masterpiece-1000-arm-chenrezig-statue-st157-14878111924270_2000x

Nyungnay is one of our most precious Kadampa Dharma jewels and as a centre practice it comes around just once a year – on Buddha’s Enlightenment Day.

We can spend two days with thousand-armed (eleven-faced) Avalokiteshvara – ‘Mahakaruna’ – the nature of our Guru’s great compassion, making exquisite offerings, praises and prostrations and thereby accumulate huge merit, purify vast negativity for ourself and others and receive the most powerful blessing to propel ourself swiftly along our path to enlightenment.

Wrapped within the practice of Mahayana Precepts, it involves fasting and making three sessions of prostrations, with the sadhana ‘Drop of Essential Nectar‘, over two days. Usually the second day is accompanied by a full fast, although strongly recommend, this is not compulsory. Everyone is welcome to join us for this special retreat.
