Intensive Teacher Training Programme

NKT offers a six-month Intensive Teacher Training Programme at Manjushri KMC with Gen-la Kelsang Jampa is the New General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union and the Resident Teacher of Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre.

This special course was designed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche and provides six months’ intensive training for those wishing to become qualified Resident Teachers at Kadampa Buddhist centers around the world.

 

THE TEACHER, GEN-LA KELSANG JAMPA
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa is the New General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union and the Resident Teacher of Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre.

Gen-la Jampa has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for many years, and under Geshe-la’s guidance has taught at many centres and events around the world.

Gen-la is deeply respected throughout the Kadampa world as a sincere practitioner of Kadam Dharma and powerful Teacher.

What the course offers
The course will comprise of special study and training sessions based on Joyful Path of Good Fortune.

During the study weeks there will be teaching classes, group discussions and teaching skills classes along with daily group pujas.

Fees & accommodation
For successful applicants there will be no charge for the course, accommodation and meals but students will have to cover all other expenses including travel, visas and attendance at Festivals.

Accommodation will be in dormitories reserved exclusively for students on the course.

Requirements
Participants will be required to:

  • Attend every class for the entire course
  • Memorize essential parts of the texts studied
  • Take part in teaching skills classes and assessments
  • Take part in teaching practice opportunities
  • Sit written examinations
  • Be fluent in English
  • Take part in the daily life of the community
  • Undertake to accept a position as a Resident Teacher if requested
