If our mind is peaceful, we will be happy all the time, regardless of external conditions, but if it is disturbed or troubled in any way, we will never be happy, no matter how good our external conditions may be. External conditions can only make us happy if our mind is peaceful.

In three classes, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong will explain how to meditate, helping us change negative thoughts into peaceful, positive ones. This is the key to finding true, lasting happiness. A wonderful way to start the new year!

She is the General Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and the Resident Teacher of Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre.

Gen-la Dekyong is a qualified teacher of meditation and modern Kadampa Buddhism, who teaches internationally to thousands of people worldwide.

This transformative meditation series explores some of the most powerful meditation techniques taught by Buddha, designed to cultivate mental strength and resilience in the face of life's challenges. These extraordinary meditations also teach a special method to help others through combining imagination, wisdom and concentration. The course is based on the book How to Transform Your Life by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
This book offers many methods to solve our own and others problems. The instructions given in the book are scientific methods to improve our human nature. Everybody needs to be good-natured with a good heart, because in this way we can solve our own problems as well as those of others, and we can make our human life meaningful.

In our competitive world kindness and compassion can appear to make us vulnerable. In fact they give us the confidence and strength to be successful in our relationships and everything we do. It is through balancing confidence with kindness that we understand how to interact skilfully with other people and free ourself from our own fears and insecurities.

On this 5 week course we will learn step by step how to increase our love and compassion. Then you can experience for yourself how these beneficial minds increase your well being and enable you to rise above life challenges.

The course is based on the book The New Eight Steps to Happiness by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche The methods taught in this book have inspired generations of Buddhist practitioners for almost a thousand years, and brought lasting peace, inspiration and serenity to countless people.
