Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance of attending a course or as an overnight guest stay.
Please make one booking per person.
General Advance booking is required for all courses/events with the exception of our weekly General Programme classes. Whilst pre-booking for these classes is preferred, it is also possible to drop-in and pay on the night.
Audio Recordings Where audio recordings are an option, these are only available to those who have attended the course/event. Audio recordings should not be shared or in any way distributed.
Payment Card payments are preferred.
Deposits - A minimum 25% non-refundable and non-transferable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the exception of our weekly evening General Programme classes, Day Courses, Day Retreats, Public Talks, late course bookings, and overnight guest stays (not attending a course), all of which must be paid in full at the time of booking. A late booking is any booking made 5 days or less before the start of the course/retreat.
Balance Your balance must be paid at least 72 hours before arrival or start of the course/retreat you will attend whichever is earlier.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Overnight guest stays (not attending a course) - full payment is required at the time of booking. Cancellations more than 72 hours before arrival a £5 admin fee will be retained, after which time the booking is non-refundable.
Course/Retreat Bookings: Full payment is required at least 72 hours before the start of the course/retreat you will attend or your arrival date, whichever is earlier. Cancellations more than 72 hours before we will refund all but the 25% non-refundable deposit. Cancellations within 72 hours are non-refundable. Our weekly evening General Programme classes are non-refundable.
Exceptions are discretionary and may be made in cases such as bereavement or sickness, or other reasonably unforeseen circumstances. All such requests must be made in writing to treasurer@kadampa.org within 2 weeks of the course/retreat start date.
Donating cancelled Fees to International Temple’s Project. If you wish to donate the refundable portion of your cancelled fee to the International Temple’s Project, please indicated this at the time of cancellation.
Confirmation You will receive an email to say your booking has been received with a link to your booking cart. Your confirmation of booking letter will follow later once availability of all selected options has been checked. Where all selected options are not available, you will be contacted and offered alternatives.
Accommodation & what to bring Bedding and towels are provided in all single, twin, and triple accommodations as are tea/coffee making facilities. Bed linen/duvet are provided for dormitory accommodation, please bring your own towel. Conishead Priory has 70 acres of woodland which you are welcome to explore. You may find it helpful to bring waterproof jacket/trousers and footwear suitable for muddy woodland.
Meals All meals are vegetarian and may contain dairy, eggs and wheat. Please indicate in the booking form if you require vegan or wheat-free meals*
*Please note that due to potential cross-contamination we cannot offer gluten-free meals or guarantee that any of our meals are free from allergens. Please check with the kitchen manager for more detailed info about allergens/ingredients.
Children: Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. With regret we have no child care facilities and MKMC cannot be held responsible for children whilst on site.
Young Adults: 16 and 17 year olds must be accommpanied by an over 18.
Children’s Discounted Rates: The following discount rates apply:
Course/event fees: 0-7yrs FREE, 8-15 yrs – 50%, 16+ - as adult
Accommodation: Children occupying a bed are required to pay full price (unless 3 years or under and sharing a bed with parents = Free).
Meals: Full price.
Restricted Mobility Fully accessible toilet facilities are available near the Temple, we regret that currently there are no fully accessible toilet facilities within the main building. There are toilet facilities on the ground floor of the main building but these are not wheelchair accessible. Access to the Temple and main building are ramped. Please contact us in advance if you have special requirements or restricted mobility and we will do our best to meet your needs.
Internet & Mobile Phone Access Free wifi is available in all public areas and in most accommodation areas.
Because of our rural location and the nature of the buildings, mobile network access is generally very weak. Some networks get no signal at all.
General Guidelines During your visit to Manjushri KMC you are requested to please refrain from eating meat, smoking (incl. vaping), taking intoxicants and drinking alcohol in the building and in the grounds.
Pets: With regret we cannot accept pets except Guide or other Assistance Dogs.
Camping, Caravans, Campervans and Mobile Homes are not accepted on site as we do not have a license.
